This blog is going to be a brief update on the progress of my final project. So far, progress has not been on schedule, but it will still be done with plenty of time to spare. I have been really busy the past few weeks with exams and final projects in other classes, but next week is wide open, with plenty of time to manufacture my tools. I estimate they will take about 4 hours in total in the machine shop, and I should easily be able to set that time aside on Thursday and Friday. Currently, I am working on figuring out what set screw to use in my design, I will likely order them from mcmastercarr to ensure quality and timely shipping. Here are a couple of images representing what I plan to do next week, courtesy of ChatGPT.
As you can see in the picture I took below, my material has arrived and it seems perfect for the job. I can’t wait to start turning it down on the lathe and seeing the tool hidden inside it revealed. Thank you for reading, hopefully I will have more to show for next week.

Nice Cason! I would say always dramatically overestimate how much time this will take you. The other day, a glue up that I planned to do in 1 hour took 5 and a half hours. This is super cool, and I can’t wait to see it come together.
