Post 9-Top 5 specification/constraints rustic farm style fountain

Top 5 Specifications

1: Must look rustic. Maybe like it was designed in the early 20th century.

2: Must appear to be a heavily used piece of equipment. I could do this by adding dents to the exposed pipes.

3: Must have a working pump to generate the flowing water as my moving aspect.

4: The water landing area must fit into the aesthetic. I could do this by adding some fake vegetation to the landing area, which I suspect will have a lot of rock as well.

5: The water receptacle must be large enough to capture the water at a reasonable rate so not too much water is escaping to the surrounding environment.

Top 5 Constraints:

1: Space limitations are a big concern for my design, because so far, my fountain looks like it might need a larger water receptacle area to avoid excessive splash.

2: Water pump sizing is important, because I do not want the water exiting my design pressurized, I am more going for a light trickle for a better rustic farm style aesthetic.

3: Water drainage is important; the water fountain should not be placed near anything that might be easily damaged by light exposure to water.

4: Power supply: The fountain will likely need a power source, which I imagine to be a wall outlet given my brief research into available water pumps that will meet my displacement demands.

5: Water source: Given my design, the water source will just be the water reservoir, and it will just continuously cycle through that water source. This may just require the water to be refilled periodically.

I really like your commitment to making the fountain feel old and well-used—especially the idea of denting the pipes to show wear. Have you thought about how you’ll keep the fake vegetation looking cohesive with the rest of the rustic aesthetic over time? It sounds like it’s going to be a really immersive piece.

This seems like an awesome project and great engineering experience! I like how detailed you were when explaining the constraints of your design. I hope that you will be able to overcome those constraints and make a great final product!
