An Aesthetic that I connect with personally is the dark space fantasy aesthetic. This aesthetic would involve the mystery of space, while also capturing the beauty and whimsy of the unexplored regions of the galaxy. This aesthetic is closely related to space, so the idea of planets and stars is a common thread throughout this aesthetic.

I believe that this aesthetic appeals to me so much because I played the videogame Destiny during my early teens, and the idea of exploring space is a large theme of this videogame. Discovering new planets and interplanetary travel is a staple of this game franchise and may have been what initially drew me to the game. As I played the game more, I found the overall dark space fantasy more and more appealing.

My personal favorite parts of the aesthetic are the embracing of the unknown. The mystery of space is fascinating to me. This may be why I find this aesthetic so pleasing. As far as final design project, I don’t know how much this aesthetic will factor into my final project, but it definitely might influence the final product. I look forward to thinking of how I could incorporate this aesthetic into a final project in the coming weeks.

Hey Ben, Your exploration of the dark space fantasy aesthetic is both captivating and personal. I appreciate how you’ve tied your connection to this aesthetic back to your experiences with the game Destiny. It provides a strong context for your interest, and the reference to exploring new planets and interplanetary travel effectively conveys your passion for the theme. Also, do you have any ideas of what you would like to create for your final project or are you still exploring ideas? Thank you for sharing!

Hi Ben! It’s a cool aesthetic that I myself don’t have much exposure to, so it was interesting to get any idea of what it entails through your images and post. Besides planets and stars, are there any other pretty common elements that go with this aesthetic? It would be neat to see how you incorporated such an aesthetic into a project, so if you do that, I think it’d be really cool!
