Throughout the exploration of my aesthetic, I find myself drawn to memories and reminiscence. I often think back from childhood memories where I played in the park, or hung out with my cousins. Having these occasions where I think/look back on life often revolves around my everyday life. It helps me appreciate the present more and I find myself recollecting how significant life stages have helped me improve. One of my favorite memories is playing in my grandparents backyard. My dad filmed parts of my childhood on VHS tapes and I really enjoy looking back on them. My grandparents house is a place full of memory and life changes and this is what inspired me for my personal aesthetic.

My grandparent’s house had a lot of stained glass around windows and doors. I want to try and incorporate stained glass ideas into my project. Here are some ideas I am looking into:

Overall, I hope that the stained glass aligns with my own interpretation of the reminiscence aesthetic.  I am leaning toward making something similar to Figure 3 because of it’s functionality!

  • Looks like you’ve got a lot of neat options to decide between that can all use stained glass in their design. Will you try to make something that very specifically resembles a piece in your grandparents’ house?

  • This is a super cool project and I totally agree that I often use my decorations to connect with memories or people. Have you worked with stain glass before or is this your first time?
