My personal aesthetic can be defined by a few things. I really aim to have everything around me be very clean and organized. Sprinkled in with that, I also tend to have some luxury in a way that quietly shines through. This is visible throughout everything I own. From my silver sports car, to the everyday clothing I wear, and even to the decorations in my room, I apply this aesthetic very often. A really good example of something in my daily life that carries this aesthetic is my backpack. It is a simple Adidas backpack, but the coloring really defines my personal aesthetic. The main white color adds a sense of minimalism, while the gold accents in the logo and zippers give it that subtle sense of luxury without being overwhelming. Also, since it is white, it gets dirty easily and I literally have to clean it often to maintain the aesthetic. If I were to give the aesthetic a name, I would call it minimalist sophistication.

The major 20th century design movements my personal aesthetic draws from is the minimalism movement. While this movement does mostly focus on form, I take it a step further and also give meaning to the visuals in a subtle way. My main inspiration for this personal aesthetic definitely comes from my calm and organized nature. I tend to always stay calm in most situations, and having a flashy aesthetic conflicts with my personality.
With the main project approaching, there has been something I have always wanted to do, which is build an RC car. I’ve always been interested in the RC airplane hobby, building two planes thus far. However, I do not know how to pilot these airplanes, and they have become paperweights. Due to this, I am really interested in designing and building an RC car. Specifically, I want to focus on making an RC drift car. Making a drift car come from two main reasons. For one, I’ll have more access to indoor areas to drive, especially with the crazy weather in Colorado. Secondly, I have a big interest in sports cars, and an RC drift car would allow me to build one of my favorite sports cars. The specific sports car I have yet to decide, but I am deciding between a few for now.
Regarding the aesthetic of this car, I am also torn between two aesthetics. The main one that would make the most sense is going with my personal aesthetic, the minimalist sophistication. I am not a fan of the super flashy sports cars, and adding subtle hints of that flash would be what I would look into. The other aesthetic I may try is a futuristic/cyberpunk aesthetic. This aesthetic appeals to me as I can play around with lighting in an unique way, but would require more design work with electronics. I am torn with what I want to accomplish with the aesthetic for this project, but I may try combining aspects from both.

Similar to what I am looking for, but would add a few modifications. The blue here adds that elevated sense of luxury, but does not overwhelm the entire design.

The lighting effects on the rear, sides, and engine cover are what I want to replicate for a cyberpunk aesthetic.

Very cool to see the preliminary design thought regarding your future RC car. Personally I think making a cyberpunk style RC car would be super cool especially if you were able to implement actual LEDs for underlighting or something of the sort. Have you looked into how feasible this would be to do?
I am really leaning into trying out a light use of the cyberpunk aesthetic on this car. The LEDs would be a challenge to figure out since I want the lights to be more directed into shapes and figures, and not just illuminating the underside of the car. But implementing lighting similar to a cyberpunk aesthetic is very feasible. Thanks for the reply.
