Unfortunately, due to my Senior Design project, I have not been able to make much progress on my project. However, I have come up with an alternate design for my project. Rather than a view into the box from the side, I think having a top down view would be more interesting. I also figured that this would allow me to use a gravity to my advantage when making the internals. In addition, I think that I can use this to make some very interesting perspective choices.

In terms of materials, I now have a surplus of old cardboard to use to make the box itself. I have also thought of an idea of how to make a system to add and remove filters to customize what look the project would have. The idea is that the filters can be slid in and out of slots. I am thinking that 3 slots for 3 filters would be the best idea. To do this, I think that 3D printing the slot system would be the best idea, as it would be able to better handle the repeated movements the slot would have.
The slot system will be a three part system: The sheet for the filter, a housing that goes over the filter, and then the slot that the housing will slide into. I believe that this is the best way to keep the filter aligned and keep the system modular.

I am still on the search for the filters themselves, but I have found several options, although I will likely have to buy them myself rather than upcycle them. Vellum paper is what I am currently looking at, although it might wrinkle too easily.

I am now in progress in making the CAD for the slot system and will be 3D printing it shortly. By next week, I will also have a design for what will be inside the box.
