For my upcycle project, I am drawing inspiration from a game called “Genshin Impact,” which I have been playing for five years. I appreciate this game for its diverse culture and the aesthetics of the artifacts and signature weapons associated with the characters. For my upcycle, I will be focusing on the aesthetics of the game’s artifacts and transforming them into real-life items.
The design I’m interested is called the “Flower of Life,” known for its intricate patterns used throughout the game. These designs vary based on different areas and characters. In gameplay, these artifacts help characters enhance specific stats, such as Health Points, which are crucial for their performance.
I chose this topic for my upcycle project because I find the floral designs beautiful, cool, and visually captivating.

Aim and Materials for the Project ?
The aim of this project is to recreate the aesthetics of in-game artifacts in real life and explore how they can be incorporated into everyday items. For example, I plan to create brooches, earrings, and other accessories that highlight their appealing designs and can be easily fabricated. A primary objective is to ensure that these artifacts are eco-friendly and made from recyclable materials. The materials I intend to use include felt, LEGO blocks/gear, paint, clay, gemstones, cleaning wire, and glue.

Hi Tanmay, I’m excited to see how your project turns out. I am also an avid player of Genshin Impact, and I have been playing almost as long as you have, so seeing someone create those artifacts will be interesting. I think a good material you could also use for something like this could be polymer clay and shrink plastic, especially if you plan on making jewelry. Many tutorials on both TikTok and YouTube show how to make flowers using Shrinky-Dinks plastic. However, I would like to add that in your post; I wish you could have explored a little more of the aesthetic Genshin or the particular flower of life artifact, especially with how some of the artifacts are inspired by each element associated with the regions in the game.
Thank you for the awesome feedback, Sofia. It’s really awesome that I’m seeing for the first time that someone is a Genshin Impact player in our batch. As a Gamer, it’s my honor to meet you in person for more planning. And yes, I’ve been considering using Baked-in clay for the artifact’s final Design aesthetics.
