Project Plans and Alternatives
I finally reduced my main project ideas to two distinct possible designs. The first is a Japanese aesthetic wind chime, and the second is a minimalist/organic tabletop water fountain. I really enjoy Japanese aesthetics as a whole and am still unsure on which distinct aesthetic I will choose for the wind chime, however I know that I want to incorporate the Wabi-Sabi principle of natural simplicity and beauty in the imperfections. Although, I want the wind chime to be somewhat simple in its design, I plan to include a vibrant and colorful pallete to it. For my tabletop water fountain, I am considering either organic or minimalist design to be the aesthetic. I plan for the fountain to have a neutral earth tone color-pallete, and a design that is visually pleasing yet calming and peaceful. I will decide which of these designs I will go with as soon as I start collecting the necessary materials and getting a feel for what I truly want to build.

I love both of your design ideas so far. Did you have any plans to potentially combine the ideas? Somehow incorporate a wind chime into a water fountain or add water into the wind chime design?
Hi Colin,
Thanks for your feedback. I actually haven’t thought about that, thanks for the idea!
I love the aesthetic you chose for the sketches above! Especially for the curves, they have shown the direction of blowing wind very clearly,
Looking forward for your final work!
Hi Andrea,
I’m glad you liked it!
