For my two alternative aesthetics I wanted to go to both ends of the spectrum, so I chose Minimalism and Maximalism. This was a nice exercise, I’ll probably end up doing something closer to minimalist than maximalist.

Great sketches! Do you feel that the aesthetic of the frame or the art piece itself are more important to your project?
Hey Chris. I think that what setting you put the frame in will greatly influence which aesthetic you should choose. I personally really like the victorian style. I’m curious how you would fabricate that design?
I like both of these alternative sketches quite well! Maybe there’s a middle ground you could achieve with your frame, that reinforces the RGB aesthetic of the painting in the center. I would consider making a frame that has 3 layers or sections in it, without intricate designs, but physically symbolizing the concept of 3 distinct levels to your art piece.
