The plans for my main project don’t really involve my personal aesthetic too much other than my enjoyment of floral design/ nature. For my main project I plan to embed LED strips into vertical CNC milled grooves in a rectangular piece of wood I have. I will program the LED lights using an arduino microcontroller so when a person walks up to the installation a sensor triggers an LED sequence that mimics a waterfall behind the moss. In addition to the LED lights creating a water effect I plan to incorperate a speaker to play water sounds to add to the overall experience.

This is a good idea. I think the water sounds will add to the aesthetic make the wall feature really cool. I am excited to see how this turns out.
This is a super creative idea. I find this aesthetic to be very soothing and visually pleasing. I particularly like how you’re scoping the project to include make it an installation where the LEDs are triggered. Similar to Aidan’s question, I’m curious if you’re planning to grow the moss yourself? Very excited to see the final outcome!
This is such a cool idea I can’t wait to see it come together, and thanks for sharing it with us! Just a clarifying question on the scope of the project, are you going to have a full moss panel as pictured along with the technical functionality you’ve mentioned, or is the plan to just do the electronics? If you are making the whole moss panel, how does one go about growing a vertical sheet of moss without leaks or warped wood?
