I have always been fascinated with light and shadows. It has intrigued me that just changing the positioning of the light source over a physical model can create different shadows and effects. I am not exactly sure with the aesthetic I will be following but I think I’m leaning to wards sculptural. To add to this complexity I ant to attempt to make the physical model amorphous.  Anamorphosis, in visual arts, is an ingenious perspective technique that gives a distorted image of the subject presented in a picture when seen from the viewpoint but so executed that if viewed from a particular angle, or reflected in a curved mirror, the distortion disappears and the image in the picture appears normal. I have attached a few images of the inspirations I would wish to follow. So putting it simply, My project plan is to combine two visual art techniques (shadow art sculpture and Anamorphous art) to create a unique artifact.

This is honestly so cool. Is the amorphous part of your piece the “dynamic” aspect of your project? If so, that’s an interesting interpretation of the prompt and I’m all for it. Good luck.

  • These art pieces are really beautiful, I can’t wait to see what you make. Do you have ideas at this point about what the sculpture will be made of?
