For my Upcycle project, I am choosing to build a 3-bulb lamp using an upcycled liquor bottle. I am hoping to imitate flowers in a vase with my creation, embracing the aesthetic of Electrical appliances imitating natures. The “flowers” will be the bulbs of the lamp, using upcycled stained glass to imitate petals. While I have not found lightbulbs yet, I will likely use Edison bulbs, allowing me to lean into the industrial feel. Thus, I hope to synthesize motifs from both nature and industry.

I really like this idea it’s super neat. I can imagine that when the light is turned on the glass on the bottle will project cool colors if it’s stained.

This is a unique way to use glass bottles as an up-cycled material, and I appreciate the detail of how the glass and bulbs will make flowers as it helped me better visualize your project. I am curious, you mention at the end wanting a slightly industrial feel and to me this motif of rough flowers in everyday object feels very similar the the aesthetic of the arts and crafts movement. Had you considered that aesthetic when designing your project?
