My all time favorite design video is “Homemade – Boring Head” by This Old Tony on Youtube. This Old Tony has a home machining channel that, in my opinion, is very well put together; all of his videos are very well-edited and seemingly professional. His content is always intelligent, interesting, and frankly fun to watch. In this video, he goes through his process of creating an adjustable boring head for his milling machine. From start to finish, his design and method of machining this tool is well thought out and the end result is pretty incredible. In regards to aesthetic, there were some design choices that he made purely for the visual aspect. He goes through his choices for the engraving fonts he uses on the dial and the tool itself, as well as the profiles and shapes of some of the components in which a feature is more aesthetic than functional.

I really enjoyed this design video. I enjoyed watching his design process and I love how well put together the video is overall. I love how he explained his design choices and why he chose to do what he did.
I love this, especially because I know you are passionate about machining. It is cool to see people take something extremely functional, and turn it into art. Could you see yourself doing something like this in the future?
