My plan for this main project is to go along with a theme and aesthetic of Industrialism. I believe this choice will lend itself to a very interesting look and set of challenges that will encapsulate what this class is looking for. I also want to put an outdoor-associated twist on it to capture a bit more variety and make the project more artful and unique, as well as capture an aspect of who I am as an individual.
I plan to use piping as shown above to create some kind of furniture, but as a lot of these ideas tend to look simply industrial and not very aesthetically pleasing, I think adding an additional aspect of the design to it could really pull it together and complete the final look. To do this, I intend to use climbing rope to weave a platform on which to sit or place objects. I’m excited to see how these two aesthetics come together and how the final product comes out! Stay tuned!

Hello Davis! I think you have a very interesting idea. I like your choice of aesthetic and I think industrialism sounds really interesting. I feel with your project, you can go as far as you want and have so many ways of adding more components to match the aesthetic in your head. Are you planning on using non-metallic piping like PVC or metallic ones? And are you thinking about painting it? Good luck on your project and looking forward to seeing it!
Thanks! I plan to use metal piping and don’t plan to paint it as I feel that leaving alone will go along with the industrial feel better. I think metal piping would remain stronger and more secure for furniture purposes than PVC would. Thanks for the support!
