While thinking through how I was going to tackle my single cardboard challenge project, I realized quickly that I would need to create a template for the main body. I wanted to think out how I was going to have everything from a single piece, so in my head I pictured layers stacked on top of each other and supported by simple legs. At first I thought this would be simple but I quickly realized without any fasteners that this was going to be a challenge. I came to the conclusion that I would just have to start and see what happens. Thus far I have just traced and created the template for the cameras main body and I am planning to use a Johnston and Murphy shoe box that I just got to be my single piece of material. Below is the template that I plan to use. As well as the shoe box I will carve up to perfection.

Statement of Meaning: I love what you said about how sometimes you don’t know, but you just have to start and see how it turns out. I think that is often the heart behind upcycling in general– just starting with the intent of making something out of nothing, not sure if it will work. Great job!
