For my upcycle project, I’ll be creating an art-piece out of those plastics caps.

Right now, I got all my materials: Cardboard, around 1000 bottle caps ( thanks to CU Recycling Facility), and the “glue”.

I had taken some of the caps that I got and placed those into a plastic container and soaked with oxygen dioxide, it’s been there for almost a week. I still need to take those out and further disinfect them.

After the disinfection is done, then I’ll be experimenting with building out shapes out of those caps and eventually “glue” them together.

Hey Xiang! This is such a cool project, and you have been so prepared in getting the materials ready! Do you have an idea for what the art piece is going to look like? I especially thought the sculpture of the jellyfish in your last post was super interesting, and had a lot of depth into how it would be built. If you do an animal, are you going to need other materials to show more of their features? I can’t wait to see how it turns out!

Hello Xiang! It looks like you have plenty of material to work with and I look forward to seeing what your final product looks like. I think a helpful addition to this post would be any sketches you have for the vision of your piece. I saw in your last post you mentioned utilizing polka dots. Is this still your plan? Do you have any ideas for color schemes?
