The only progress on my upcycle project so far has been obtaining these large pieces of cardboard. They were sitting somewhere in the house and after a while it took me a while to find where they were hiding. These large cardboard sheets will make it very easy to cut the pieces and layer them on top of one another to get a rigid structure.

I plan on making a cardboard sculpture or maybe some sort of weapon out of the cardboard. So far I’m leaning towards a sword of some sort. I have sketched a few designs and will do further research on how to make the cardboard more rigid. Regular school glue should be good enough to hold the cardboard together and I plan on making this real life size. I also have some spray paint sitting in the garage at home so the plan is to finish it with spray paint afterwards to make it aesthetically pleasing.

Cardboard can be a great medium. If designed and built properly, a cardboard sword or shield can turn out really well. Have you thought about using the laser cutters on campus to create your design?
