I am a MS in mechanical engineering student. I graduated BS with a petroleum and natural gas engineering degree. I worked for 4 years in petroleum company. Graduating with a petroleum engineering taught me fluid movement. My previous experience helped to sharpen my research skills where I had to search for answers myself when I face a challenge. Also, it improved my presentation and marketing skills. During my working period we did not work on coding, so I am a little shaky in that area. However, I have a lot of experience in Microsoft office applications and data driven analytics. I have led teams to solve critical challenges where we needed to think out of the box and innovate a solution.

I am eager to learn 3D printing as it seems a fun and very important way to design products. I hope my teammates help me develop this skill.

  • Hey Ibrahim,

I am looking forward to working with you this semester. It sounds like our team has a pretty good understanding of CAD and we will need to take our time having meaningful projects. Three mechanical engineering students gives us an advantage of a lot of technical background, but we will need to be mindful when it comes to the aesthetic focus of our projects. I can see us getting involved so heavily in functionality that we lose the big picture.

I think 3D printing is something I could get behind. Might combine something like 3D printing and controls or animation to make an interactive artwork. Let’s get together soon and brainstorm.
