I am a mechanical engineering student currently in the BS/MS program. I have all the fundamental skills of a CU mechanical engineering student with high proficiencies in Matlab, SolidWorks, Excel, machining, system dynamics and integration. I also have experience using Photoshop, coding in C/C++, and building artistic projects. I really enjoy working with others to come up with an interesting and original project to work on.

When working on a project, I sometimes get stuck on one solution and continue to try and use that solution when there are better ones out there. I like discussing with others what their solutions to a certain problem might be to open up my mind to different possibilities. This is beneficial for me because I can usually build off other’s solutions to make the best possible project.

  • Tanner,
I literally ran into the same problem tonight! I also tend to sink a bunch of time on a particular, less-effective solution – only to find out after the fact that there was a simpler, more effective solution. I really look forward to test my assumptions and redirect my trains of thought with others in this class.

  • Its nice that you have decided to further your career. When working on a project and you get stuck try consulting your team members! Getting different perspectives on a project can help break someone out of one way of thinking. I look forward to what you decide to do for your final project!
