Project: Heartrate LED
Constraint #1: Cost – I plan to spend less than $200 for this project. This includes LEDs, Arduino, relay, heartrate monitor, wiring, and fasteners.
Constraint #2: Aesthetic – I have to stick to the theme of upcycling. The lights will be mounted on an old engine valve cover. I will have to mount the PLC and wiring inside the cover as well.
Constraint #3: Power Source – the device must be powered by a 120VAC, 60 Hz, 1 phase source.
Constraint #4: Plug and play – the device must require no calibration or setup. It must be able to detect a pulse and instantly start flashing synchronously.
Constraint #5: Weight – the device must be light enough that it can be easily transported around.
