Longboard progress

I am clear now on what I am designing with the board. The focus is on the deck, and I need to track down the wood. I still can’t find Canadian hard rock maple locally, I may have to special order it or consider other types of wood. I have looked into grip tape (which will go on the top of the board) the color and style of grip tape will influence the aesthetic. I plan on carving out my friend’s nick-name in the grip tape, to add a personalized touch. I have looked at trucks and wheels that I am interested in buying for the board and I will just buy generic longboard bearings at a skate shop in town.

I’m a big fan of longboards, so I’m especially excited to see your project come to fruition. Have you thought about other forms of grip rather than grip tape as a possibility? I know some boards use a resin of some sort and a grit like rock salt instead of a tape, might be worth looking into for making cool designs!

Sounds good and like it is coming along. Have you figured out the design for the engraving on the bottom side yet?
