1. Time – Of course, time is the biggest constraint. There are only 7 weeks left in the semester, and I have several other obligations, such as Senior Design and a job, that take up a lot of time. Therefore, to complete this project I will have to stick to my timeline, and adjust the project scale as needed.
  2. Money – The scale of this project is largely determined by my budget. The cost of fabric, LEDs, and wire can add very quickly. Therefore, I plan to buy everything in bulk and second hand if I can.
  3. Hiding Arduino and Wires – I do not want any of the wires or the Arduino to be visible. Therefore, I will have to creatively incorporate these elements into the design.
  4. Power Supply – I want to have a power supply to the Arduino that isn’t a computer.
  5.   Wall Mount – I want the light fixture to be easily mounted to a wall.

I appreciate your first two, something others haven’t acknowledged, I will definitely be adjusting my project scope depending on time. Have you worked at all with external power supplies with Arduino’s?

  • Hopefully some of the materials you used on the last light can be repurposed for this one. I can assist in helping you locate materials if that would be beneficial. Just let me know what you are looking for and I can do some searching. I don’t know anything about Arduino, but please let me know what else I might be able to help with.
