I have experience in industrial design and can help contribute to various parts of the design process. I currently work in market research and strategic innovation so I can provide guidance on methodologies on that front.

As for trench work, I can assist with sketching, illustration, or CAD. For sketching I used a hybrid approach of free-hand ink and Photoshop rendering with a Wacom tablet.

CorelDraw is my illustration package of choice.

For CAD, I use Solidworks and Photoview for rendering. Most of my CAD experience is in surfacing, so I can offer help there.

Help Wanted:

It would be great to have some help laser cutting until I get familiar with it. Also some help laying out some gears could be handy.

Thank you!

  • I enjoyed taking a look through your industrial design portfolio– there’s some really impressive work in there. I could definitely use your design input as far as aesthetics and form goes for the next project.

Thanks for sharing some of your projects Jason. These are really cool product images! When designing something, I usually think about how to make something mechanically feasible, or how to make it function in the intended way. I look forward to working with you on our project, and get some of your insight into how to design for form and human factors. What does the hand off between an industrial designer and an engineer usually look like? I imagine the design process needs to be fairly collaborative din order to produce something functional and enjoyable to use.

  • This is really fascinating work. I used to know a few people on the interwebs in industrial design, one of which went to work for Astro Studios and a few others from Ohio going into automotive design. Have you ever been able to take your concept drawings and make actual physical objects?

Very impressive work! I’m not on your team, but I’m interested in working within the product/industrial design industry, specifically within consumer products. It seems you have quite a bit of experience within this field. Do you know of any current opportunities available within this field? Even an industry expert to get some guidance from would be appreciated!
